And since it's nearly been a year from my last post, and it's my personal blog, and I'm sure not very many people read this anyway, I decided to write my thoughts here.

Scott and I have been trying for a second baby, and just like before, I cant get pregnant. We have been trying for over a year now, and I'm losing my patience. When we were trying for Peyton I didn't know if i could even have children and so we just kept trying and trying. And after two years we finally got our miracle. But this time it's different. I KNOW I can have children, but it's just not happening. I keep telling myself "It will happen", and "The lord has a plan for me and my family". But I can only tell myself that for so long before it sounds ridiculous.

This time around, my doctor has put me on two full pills of clomid. I was only on a pill and a half when I got pregnant with Peyton. it feels like my body has become immune to the fertility meds. But on the bright side I could possibly have twins!! It makes me nervous to even think about having twins, and it might not even happen, But I'll take what I can get. Part of me does wish for twins so that I won't have to go through this hell again.

I'm trying to stay positive through this whole thing, because I do believe that positive thoughts help. But I'm human and eventually the negative thoughts begin to seep into my heart and mind. That's another reason why I'm writing about this. If I can get all the negative thoughts out of my head I'll have more room for the positive.

My family has been a great help in staying positive. When i see my brother's two sons, who are four years apart, I see what great friends they are. Jack is such a good big brother and Ben wants to be just like Jack. Watching them play together makes me realize that even if my kids are more than a couple of years apart they can still be the best of friends and have so much fun together. Also, my family isn't pushy about us having more kids. They understand that it's difficult for us, and they are so supportive of us. And those who ask about us having a baby are truly concerned and want to be supportive. And honestly, talking about it is a huge help.

I want to thank all my family and friends. You are such a comfort to me and Scott. You have been such an amazing support system for us. We have felt your love and encouragement, and we know that the Lord has heard our prayers. I know that I have to be patient, and have faith in my Heavenly Father. I know He understands the frustrations that I'm having more than anyone else. And I know He loves me, and knows and wants what's best for me. We all have trials that we must endure, and I know there are others out there going through worse things than I am. But I know there is a reason for every heartache, and every tear shed. The Lord has a plan for us and if we just have faith in Him anything is possible. And He will provide a way.

Hillaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05065715450105807299noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3203099267963633717.post-76691103801317386622010-11-18T21:49:00.002-07:002010-11-18T22:15:41.213-07:00Quick PostSorry I haven't posted anything for a while! life's been busy and we've been without internet for a few months. So I'm posting from my parents house. Since my last post we've had a lot of fun times!! Back in August we took Peyton to the Morgan County Fair. He LOVED it! He had so much fun petting all the animals. I have pictures to post as soon as I have internet again. Peyton was a caterpillar for Halloween this year. He looked so cute! We went trick-or-treating out in the rain and Peyton had a blast! Even though me and my mom were freezing!! Scott turned 33 this year and we celebrated by leaving Peyton at my mom's overnight while Scott and I went to dinner and a movie. It was nice being able to sleep in the next morning. I'm excited for Thanksgiving this year but very nervous too. Why, you asked. Because Thanksgiving is at MY HOUSE!! It's my first time cooking a turkey too! Keep your fingers crossed that everything will go smoothly. Prayers won't hurt either! I think I'm going to be praying until that turkey comes out of the oven and is cooked perfectly! I'll take pictures and let you know how it goes! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!Hillaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05065715450105807299noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3203099267963633717.post-20645604783749117532010-07-21T23:01:00.005-06:002010-07-21T23:17:22.537-06:00Bear Lake 2More Pictures!!!

I guess I should start from where I left off. The remodel is finished!! We finished it around the first part of April, and we love it!! I would post pictures but I can't find our computer USB for the camera. So as soon as I find it I'll post pictures. About a week after we finished the remodel Scott and I went to California to go to The Price Is Right for our five year anniversary! We had a blast and Drew Carey is the nicest guy! We also hung out around Hollywood Blvd, and at The Grove and Farmers Market! The Grove was my favorite place. It's a lot like The Gateway. We also visited Scott's sister Julie who lives in Las Vegas. While we were away Peyton got to spend the week at grandma and grandpa Done's! I know he had fun and I hope my parents enjoyed having him with them.
May was a pretty quiet month. Not too much happened except I was getting sick and tired of all the dumpy weather!! At the end of May though, my sister-in-law Ruth had her third baby! A girl, who they named Lillian Grace! She is such a cutie! She looks like her older brothers, except for the bow on her head! We also found out my other sister-in-law Sarah is pregnant with another girl, and is due in November!
The end of June we went to Calf Creek with Scott's family. Jordan got to ride down with us, which turned out to be really nice because he kept Peyton entertained for the long ride down. We went on a six mile hike which nearly killed us, but it was a lot of fun. Peyton loved camping! There was a bridge next to our campsite and we couldn't keep him off of it!! We also spent our afternoons playing in the creek. The water was freezing but it didn't seem to bother Peyton one bit!
For the fourth of July we went swimming at Cherry Hill with Jed, Heidi, and Maddie. And Brooke and our cousin Monica came too. It was a really nice day for swimming. We then went to my mom and dad's for a BBQ. Brendan and Ruth came with their kids, and my aunt Jeanette came with her son Matt, his wife Sharee and their kids! It was fun just to hang out, talk and eat some good food! And of course the fireworks are always amazing!! In Oakley we get to watch four nights of fireworks because of the rodeo. And I can see them from my house which is really nice!! July is my favorite month of the year! There's BBQ's, swimming, family vacations, two holidays with parades and fireworks! And I get to spend a lot of time with all of my family! Next week we're headed off to Bear Lake for a few days, so I promise to find my USB cord for my camera, so I can post all my pictures!Hillaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05065715450105807299noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3203099267963633717.post-51889538381305573612010-03-01T14:37:00.003-07:002010-03-01T14:50:39.579-07:00Will It Ever End?!!This remodel is taking a lot longer than I've wanted it to!! We were trying to have it all done by March 6th, which is Peyton's birthday party. We wanted to have the party at our house so we could show off all the hard work we did. BUT.... Home Depot didn't tell us that it takes FOREVER for them to order in carpet, so it wouldn't arrive until mid March!!! We decided to go somewhere else for carpet, since we were put behind schedule. Which in a way was a good thing because we found better quality carpet and it was a much better deal!!! We have now set the finish date for the first week in April. I really hope we can make it! It seems like we have been working in a construction zone forever! The fireplace has taken us a little longer than I have wanted, but hopefully we can have it wired and vented in the next couple of days. I promise I will post pictures. I want to wait until we're all done and then I'll do a before and after post! Keep your fingers crossed, cause I've got everything I can cross, crossed!Hillaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05065715450105807299noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3203099267963633717.post-9407208590802401652010-01-27T12:34:00.003-07:002010-01-27T12:43:47.844-07:00Our RemodelWe've decided that we need a change to our house. Well I decided we needed a change:) We are planning on taking down walls, putting up new walls, tearing out carpet and tile, installing new carpet, laminate floors and a fireplace!! And the best part is that we are doing it all by ourselves!!!! I know you all think we're crazy but I'm way excited! we've already started and I hope we're done by May, or sooner! I have been taking pictures so you all can see the process from the before to the after!!Hillaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05065715450105807299noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3203099267963633717.post-37959863262782335142009-12-13T16:54:00.002-07:002009-12-13T17:08:36.110-07:00Don't worry, We're still here!!!Hello everyone! I know you're all amazed that I'm blogging!!!! It's been a while and I'm sorry for that! Things have been pretty crazy these last few months. Just to catch you up on what has been happening we've attended three funerals this year! Scott's grandma passed mid June, and then my uncle Ed passed away from cancer the end of July, and then most recently in November my brother's 15 month old neice passed. It has been a very hard year. There have been a lot of tears and there's not a day that goes by where I don't think of the wonderful and amazing people we've lost. It makes me so grateful for the knowledge that families are forever and I will one day see them again. They will be greatly missed!
On a happier note, Ruth my sister-in-law is pregnant with her third baby and is due in June!!(I'm crossing my fingers for a girl!!) Peyton is doing great! He started crawling at 6 1/2 months old and he loves being able to move! He's into everything! Especially the cat food! GROSS!! I'm so excited for this Christmas and being able to shop for Peyton, and Scott. I can't wait to see Peyton open his presents!!
I love you all and hope you have a wonderful Christmas!!!
(I promise to do better and posting!)Hillaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05065715450105807299noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3203099267963633717.post-67036171244094703352009-06-01T17:03:00.003-06:002009-06-01T17:23:20.940-06:00What's Next?So we had a pretty scary experience over the memorial day weekend. On thursday Scott was hospitalized with a blood clot in his lung. The week before he was having a hard time breathing, and had really bad chest pain. I told him he needed to go to the doctor but he said it was just a pulled muscle from working on his lawns with his brother. I kept telling him that he needed to go to the doctor, but he kept saying he was fine, so I dropped the subject. When Scott's mom found out she took it upon herself to call Scott's surgeon who called us and told us Scott needed to get to the ER. We tried to find a way of getting out of going to the ER but the surgeons office kept calling us. So we packed up and went to the ER, and low and behold, a blood clot! Scott was in the hospital from thursday to saturday, and put on major blood thinners. I had to give him shots in his stomach for five days, twice a day, and he will have to be on blood thinners for six to nine months.
I'm so grateful that we went to the Hospital, because if we hadn't Scott could have died and I don't know what I would do without him. He's my best friend and I need him in my life. I love him so much and I'm so grateful that he's okay. We just hope that we don't have to go through that ever again. Thank you to all of those who kept us in your prayers they were truely appreciated. We love you all.Hillaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05065715450105807299noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3203099267963633717.post-25221063197159180622009-05-13T17:25:00.002-06:002009-05-13T17:38:16.949-06:00Sleeping TroublesOkay moms out there, I need some help! I've been using a boppy for Peyton to sleep in. He has now outgrown the boppy, and I need to find a new way for him to sleep. But every position I put him in he wakes up. He is also waking up every 45 minutes between 3 and 6 in the morning even though he has a full stomach. I've read everything I could get my hands on and haven't had any luck.
If you have any suggestions that could help I would truly appreciate it! Please Help!!!Hillaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05065715450105807299noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3203099267963633717.post-49507297643672173252009-04-29T15:14:00.003-06:002009-04-29T15:41:05.287-06:00Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast Here's my cute nephew Jack at my parent's neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. We spent the Saturday before in the ER. Here is Scott on the stretcher just before entering the ER after his ambulance ride!! That morning he had gone to play basketball with his brothers and got a little too comfortable. He went up for a block and when he landed he lost all control of his lower right leg, and then came the pain. He had a huge adrenaline rush that made it possible for him to get outside, but it wore off and he couldn't get into the car. When I got the call from Bryce saying that Scott had blown out his knee I just couldn't believe it. Because this last July Scott had surgery on his left knee to replace his ACL.

Here's Scott in the ER feeling a bit embarrassed. The doctor said that Scott most likely ruptured his patella tendon, but wanted to do an MRI to make sure there was no other damage done to his knee. Once the MRI was done the doctor said it was just his tendon, but it was serious enough that he needed surgery pretty quick. With it being Easter weekend there wasn't anyone available to do the surgery that day, so Scott was given a brace, crutches, and some major pain killers to last him the weekend. We were told to expect a call from the surgeon sometime Sunday. We were referred to Dr. Edwards and had surgery scheduled for Monday. The bad thing about that though, was we didn't know what time the surgery was going to be. So when we found out it wouldn't be until three o'clock in the afternoon, Scott hadn't eaten for nearly 24 hours. I felt so bad for him.

It looks like a fat woman's knee next to Scott's. I thought it was pretty funny, but Scott didn't agree.

Here's Scott after surgery and on my parents couch. The doctor said that the surgery went well, but that Scott needed to stay off it for a couple of weeks. So Scott, Peyton, and I had to stay at my parents for nearly two and a half weeks, until Scott's knee was stable enough for him to move. It was really nice to be at my parents so that I had some help with both Scott and Peyton. But when it was time to go home, I think we were all ready to get back to our normal lives. Well except for Scott. Scott might not agree, but I think his accident was a blessing in disguise. Now he'll be able to spend some quality time with Peyton. And I really think he needs that right now.

I have a funny story for you. Last year I was working at the local grocery store as a night manager. I was working one night a few days after april fool's day with my good friend who was also a night manager and she told me this story that she found very disturbing. She said that she had read in the Park Record (the local Park City paper) that there was a couple who had been arrested for cannibalism. They had apparently been snowed in all winter and had run out of food. So to survive they started killing and eating members of their staff. Once all their staff was gone they moved on to the mailman and anyone who came to their home. Once the snow finally melted they had come forward with what they had done. The weird thing was though, is that at the end of the article it said that no charges had been made against this couple. The whole time my friend was telling me this with a look of disgust and pure disbelief. She just couldn't fathom that people would do that sort of thing, and on top of that the couple wasn't being charged with all those murders! At first I believed her, and then I realized the date and asked her when the paper had come out, and she said a few days ago. That's when I started laughing hysterically. I then told her that every year for April Fool's Day the Park Record puts in an article that is completely false. She was so embarrassed that she had gone those few days believing that story. Her face was so red, and I thought I was going to pee my pants!! Anyway, I thought that was a pretty funny story and just wanted to share that with you! I hope you have a great April Fool's Day and that you can have a good laugh today.Hillaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05065715450105807299noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3203099267963633717.post-81850124281525600612009-03-31T12:02:00.003-06:002009-03-31T12:24:16.259-06:00where's Spring gone?I can't believe that last week the weather was so nice and warm and the flowers were starting to pop up from the ground. And now it feels like we're in the middle of winter again!! I'm starting to get a little stir-crazy and I think Peyton is too. I want to get out and enjoy the sun and be able to take Peyton for walks in his stroller. I don't think I can take much more of this bad weather or I'm going to start pulling my hair out!!! Plus I need to get into a routine so I don't feel like I'm not being productive. But I do have to say that my house has never been cleaner!!! That's all I've been able to do while waiting for warm weather to come back. (not that having a clean house is a bad thing!). But I need other things to do than just cleaning all the time. Other than waiting for better weather Peyton and I have been having fun. His favorite thing to do is eat! For how small he is I feel like after every bottle he is still hungry. And he is already eating 3oz.! But he's growing! I can feel him getting heavier and his cute little legs are starting to fatten up! Hopefully by Easter he's six and a half pounds. He has a doctor's appointment next week so we'll see how realistic that hope is.Hillaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05065715450105807299noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3203099267963633717.post-54891972264599933002009-03-13T12:56:00.002-06:002009-04-03T13:19:15.049-06:00Our new family

On March 4 2009 at 10:26pm Scott and I were blessed with a beautiful baby boy. We named him Peyton Scott Burningham. He weighed 5lbs. 13oz. and was 18 inches long. The day was quite a surprise because I had gone into the hospital for a simple non stress test to make sure that Peyton was still healthy and thriving, which he was. I had been there for a couple of hours and was expecting to have finished when my nurse came in and told me I would need to make some phone calls because I was going to have a baby!!! The first words out of my mouth were "Are you serious!?" And the nurse said "Yep, you're having a baby tonight." It turned out that I was the one the nurses were more concerned about because I had high blood pressure that just wasn't getting under control. And because I had high blood pressure I had a higher risk of having a seizure, so they decided to be better safe than sorry and induced me.
I called Scott to tell him the good news and all he said was "What?" Then I think reality set in and he started to get nervous. I told him he needed to go home to get everything we needed to bring Peyton home. I'm surprised he remembered everything because he seemed flustered on the phone. I then called my mom because I was all alone at the hospital and Scott wouldn't be there for an hour and a half to two hours. So my mom came to keep me company while I waited to be moved to a birthing room.
It was around 2:45 when I was moved into a birthing room and induced into labor. Things went smoothly once I was given an epidural. I think while I was resting Scott and my mom were getting anxious because every time I would have a contraction Peyton's heart rate would drop. The nurses were great in keeping tabs on me because around 10:00 Peyton's heart rate had dropped below 60 and they came running in the room and threw me on my side. They called my doctor and within seven minutes I was in the operating room. I was a little nervous but things were happening so fast that it wasn't too bad. Scott was able to be in the room with me which was really nice or I think I would have been a lot more nervous. It felt like I was gone for only a few minutes but it was more like an hour. It was so fun to see my family in my room when I got back. The excitement in the air was very infectious. Everyone was taking pictures and laughing and checking Peyton to make sure he had all his fingers and toes. I was kind of out of it because of the medication but I remember some of what was going on. It was quite a night. Very surreal.
Having Peyton home has been so much fun but an extreme adjustment. I have been spoiled rotten with this sweet and mellow baby. He has been so patient with me as I adjust to being a mom. I am so grateful to have him in my life. Scott and I have waited nearly three years for him and I already can't imagine not having him in my life. Scott has been an amazing father and my love grows so much for him as I see him play and cuddle with Peyton. He has been my rock when I have my emotional moments and he calms my nerves.
A huge adventure has just begun for me and Scott, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for our new family.

Hillaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05065715450105807299noreply@blogger.com0
