What's Next?

So we had a pretty scary experience over the memorial day weekend. On thursday Scott was hospitalized with a blood clot in his lung. The week before he was having a hard time breathing, and had really bad chest pain. I told him he needed to go to the doctor but he said it was just a pulled muscle from working on his lawns with his brother. I kept telling him that he needed to go to the doctor, but he kept saying he was fine, so I dropped the subject. When Scott's mom found out she took it upon herself to call Scott's surgeon who called us and told us Scott needed to get to the ER. We tried to find a way of getting out of going to the ER but the surgeons office kept calling us. So we packed up and went to the ER, and low and behold, a blood clot! Scott was in the hospital from thursday to saturday, and put on major blood thinners. I had to give him shots in his stomach for five days, twice a day, and he will have to be on blood thinners for six to nine months. I'm so grateful that we went to the Hospital, because if we hadn't Scott could have died and I don't know what I would do without him. He's my best friend and I need him in my life. I love him so much and I'm so grateful that he's okay. We just hope that we don't have to go through that ever again. Thank you to all of those who kept us in your prayers they were truely appreciated. We love you all.

Sleeping Troubles

Okay moms out there, I need some help! I've been using a boppy for Peyton to sleep in. He has now outgrown the boppy, and I need to find a new way for him to sleep. But every position I put him in he wakes up. He is also waking up every 45 minutes between 3 and 6 in the morning even though he has a full stomach. I've read everything I could get my hands on and haven't had any luck. If you have any suggestions that could help I would truly appreciate it! Please Help!!!

Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast

Here's my cute nephew Jack at my parent's neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. He is so much fun to be around. You never know what funny, crazy things will come out of his mouth. I love this kid!!!
I was so sad it was cold the day of the hunt, because i had to keep Peyton covered up while we were outside. But i did sneak a quick picture of him in his stroller. What a cutie!!
Here he is in his Easter outfit. Too bad he wasn't too happy about having his picture taken.
And here are all the Done grandkids in their Easter clothes. They're all so cute I can hardly stand it!

Easter Weekend Fiasco

This was our Easter Weekend. We spent the Saturday before in the ER. Here is Scott on the stretcher just before entering the ER after his ambulance ride!! That morning he had gone to play basketball with his brothers and got a little too comfortable. He went up for a block and when he landed he lost all control of his lower right leg, and then came the pain. He had a huge adrenaline rush that made it possible for him to get outside, but it wore off and he couldn't get into the car. When I got the call from Bryce saying that Scott had blown out his knee I just couldn't believe it. Because this last July Scott had surgery on his left knee to replace his ACL.
Here's Scott in the ER feeling a bit embarrassed. The doctor said that Scott most likely ruptured his patella tendon, but wanted to do an MRI to make sure there was no other damage done to his knee. Once the MRI was done the doctor said it was just his tendon, but it was serious enough that he needed surgery pretty quick. With it being Easter weekend there wasn't anyone available to do the surgery that day, so Scott was given a brace, crutches, and some major pain killers to last him the weekend. We were told to expect a call from the surgeon sometime Sunday. We were referred to Dr. Edwards and had surgery scheduled for Monday. The bad thing about that though, was we didn't know what time the surgery was going to be. So when we found out it wouldn't be until three o'clock in the afternoon, Scott hadn't eaten for nearly 24 hours. I felt so bad for him.
This was just before Scott went in for surgery. It looks like a fat woman's knee next to Scott's. I thought it was pretty funny, but Scott didn't agree.
Here's Scott after surgery and on my parents couch. The doctor said that the surgery went well, but that Scott needed to stay off it for a couple of weeks. So Scott, Peyton, and I had to stay at my parents for nearly two and a half weeks, until Scott's knee was stable enough for him to move. It was really nice to be at my parents so that I had some help with both Scott and Peyton. But when it was time to go home, I think we were all ready to get back to our normal lives. Well except for Scott. Scott might not agree, but I think his accident was a blessing in disguise. Now he'll be able to spend some quality time with Peyton. And I really think he needs that right now.

April Fools

Happy April fool's day everyone! I have a funny story for you. Last year I was working at the local grocery store as a night manager. I was working one night a few days after april fool's day with my good friend who was also a night manager and she told me this story that she found very disturbing. She said that she had read in the Park Record (the local Park City paper) that there was a couple who had been arrested for cannibalism. They had apparently been snowed in all winter and had run out of food. So to survive they started killing and eating members of their staff. Once all their staff was gone they moved on to the mailman and anyone who came to their home. Once the snow finally melted they had come forward with what they had done. The weird thing was though, is that at the end of the article it said that no charges had been made against this couple. The whole time my friend was telling me this with a look of disgust and pure disbelief. She just couldn't fathom that people would do that sort of thing, and on top of that the couple wasn't being charged with all those murders! At first I believed her, and then I realized the date and asked her when the paper had come out, and she said a few days ago. That's when I started laughing hysterically. I then told her that every year for April Fool's Day the Park Record puts in an article that is completely false. She was so embarrassed that she had gone those few days believing that story. Her face was so red, and I thought I was going to pee my pants!! Anyway, I thought that was a pretty funny story and just wanted to share that with you! I hope you have a great April Fool's Day and that you can have a good laugh today.
